Custom site definition as web template variation labels

In one of my previous post you can see that I made a custom site definition which activated my own features. Now I’ll combine them with variations.

No coincidence that I based the definition on a publishing subsite with workflows because I want to use this site template for each variation site that will be created.
Unfortunately enough I can’t see my new site definition in the user interface, but I can still use it in the code. But this only if I allowed my site definition to be used on my site collection (remember this when you get an error like object not set).
