Metadata properties unavailable
The setup of my site is as follows.
I have a site with a lot of pages, the default page is set-up to search my site. We did a lot of customization in the master page and page layout, one thing what was really nice is being able to crawl an image so that it appears in your search.
We followed every step for setting up to the search until step no. 3, we couldn't find the managed property.
Did you know that when the home page of your site isn't published, SharePoint doesn't crawl your site?
Once we published our home page, crawled again, the managed property was available.
Unbelievable huh?
